Every story needs a truly detestable villain, and in "The Fall of the House of Usher," that's slimy business magnate Rufus Wilmot Griswold, played by Michael Trucco. Named after a real-world literary critic and rival of Edgar Allan Poe, Griswold serves as both the antagonist and evil inspiration for young Roderick and Madeline Usher. The series is Trucco's third Mike Flanagan project, as he previously played John in 2016's "Hush" and Wade Scarborough in "Midnight Mass."

Extremely cunning and biting, Camille L’Espanaye runs the PR for the family. She’s made her life’s work not only about spinning bad behavior into good press, but also collecting files filled with every dirty secret of those closest to her. As the eldest, Frederick Usher is the natural heir to his father’s company, but out of all of his siblings, he’s the least equipped to do so. While his neuroses make him an easy target for his siblings, Freddie’s fiery jealousy and compounding insecurity force him down a path that even those closest to Freddie are shocked to see.
Like some of those other series, "The Fall of the House of Usher" is an adaptation. But rather than adapting a single work, it adapts the entire breadth of Edgar Allan Poe's poetry and fiction, morphing it into a modern-day amalgam that addresses classism, trauma, the inherent corruption of enormous wealth, and the opioid epidemic, among other topics. All of the spooks, extended monologues, and literary homages that fans of Flanagan's work would expect are here. Overall, it's another hit for the horror maestro, adding to one of the most impressive creative runs of the streaming era. The 21 actors join a cast that already features some huge names, including Frank Langella, Mark Hamill, Carla Gugino, Mary McDonnell, and Carl Lumbly. Not too much is known about The Fall of the House of Usher as of yet, but the title does come from a short story written by Poe in 1839 that deals with the themes of madness, family, isolation, and identity, all of which Flanagan himself has explored throughout his previous works.
It recounts both the rise to power of Roderick Usher, the powerful CEO of a corrupt pharmaceutical company and his sister Madeline Usher, the firm's genius COO, and the events leading to the deaths of all six of Roderick’s children. It stars an ensemble cast led by Carla Gugino as a mysterious woman plaguing the Ushers, Bruce Greenwood as an elderly Roderick and Mary McDonnell as an elderly Madeline. Willa Fitzgerald is one of the few stars of "The Fall of the House of Usher" who hasn't previously appeared in any Mike Flanagan movies or shows. However, she's still plenty experienced when it comes to horror television. One of Fitzgerald's biggest roles to date is that of Emma Duval in "Scream," the MTV (and later VH1) series based on the popular slasher movie franchise of the same name. She's also had recurring roles on TV as Lola Laffer in the Prime Video satire "Alpha House," Emma Miller in USA's "Royal Pains," cheerleading coach Colette French in the teen drama series "Dare Me," and Roscoe Conklin in "Reacher," opposite Alan Ritchson.

Curran started acting with the 2017 movie I Can I Will I Did and then landed the lead role of Abra Stone in Flanagan’s Stephen King adaptation of Doctor Sleep. She also played Harper in the Disney Channel series Secrets of Sulphur Springs.

In Midnight Mass and The Midnight Club, he played a teen boy surrounded by death. In The Fall of the House of Usher, as one of Camille's full-service assistants, he's a young man who is not under fatal threat. Instead, Toby is just trapped in a toxic throuple relationship with his boss, who degrades him for kicks. Quinn might be recognized by most as Alexis Castle and Sally Scofield from the 173 episodes of Bones she appeared in over the show's run.
Morphing into different personas and accents across The Fall of the House of Usher, this Flanagan-created role might be the one to earn this sultry star a well-earned Emmy. As the youngest member of the family, Perry has a lot to prove to his siblings and father. He’s constantly looking for a way to show that he has something to offer the Ushers.

He’s super loyal to Roderick, and he’s described as someone who’s very comfortable in the shadows. The Fall of the House of Usher cast can’t be without Hamill’s presence, who is a surprise casting choice here.

The Fall of the House of Usher is a haunted house of a show filled with the ghosts of Mike Flanagan’s past casts.
Rahul Kohli is a British actor who earned his breakout role playing Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti in The CW series iZombie. In this new Netflix series, he plays Napoleon “Leo” Usher, another illegitimate child of Roderick’s, is a bisexual video game creator (supposedly) with a serious drug addiction and spends most of his time partying or dealing to his friends and siblings. Rahul Kohli joins The Fall of the House of Usher cast as Leo Usher, a video game patron and one of Roderick’s illegitimate children. In the Flanaverse, Kohli previously starred in The Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, and The Midnight Club. Not only is Sapkota pretty new to the Flanaverse, but he was also discovered by the horror auteur. The young actor with the mischievous gaze made his screen debut in 2022 in The Midnight Club, a drama series based on the Christopher Pike novels of the same name.
